Company Process

Wilson Bicycle Consulting utilizes two methods to achieve proper fit and postion. To begin we take seven body measurements using the excellent tools of a Master Fit Kit. These calculations are then tabulated into a proper fit for top tube length, down tube length, and saddle height.

WBC also uses 29 questions to determine injuries and flexibility issues. Once the initial fitting and interview have been completed we move on to stage two of fitting. Bernie Mikkelsen in Northern California has spent years perfecting his fitting cycle. Willson Bicycle Consulting is proud to be one of the only high end shops in the country to have this device.

We use the Fit Kit measurements on the size cycle so that every client has the opportunity to try the new geometry. There are many features that distinguish the size cycle from others on the market. The seat angles, head tube angles, top tube and seat tube are adjusted before the fitting begins. The best feature of the cycle is that the client does not have to get off the bike for top tube adjustment. The top tube can be adjusted infinitely while spinning on the cycle. Bar height is equally important. The height is also adjustable by the use of a Salsa Sizing Stem.

Lastly, we have custom made sizing cranks to suite many different crank lengths. We Fit one client at a time by appointment only and take as much time as needed for complete satisfaction. After a Fit has been established frame materials and builders are discussed. Part Kits are selected from the best in the world.
